Greenpeace launches campaign to save the Arctic NGO opposes oil exploitation that destroys the habitat of polar bears
The Greenpeace launched on Thursday, during the Rio +20, a campaign to save the Arctic from industrial fishing and oil exploration. Over one hundred personalities from around the world, including actors, filmmakers and musicians support the initiative. Greenpeace’s goal is to reach one million people. The campaign was launched on Thursday June 21 because it is the longest day of the year in the Arctic, with 24 hours of sun “Climate change is causing the melting, destroying the habitat of polar bears and make accessible oil reserves. Rather than seeing this as a warning signal for Humanity, the Arctic nations are preparing to take the left and divide it among themselves, “the organization wrote in a statement.
